unjust enrichment

A claim under property law principles that a person makes to protect property rightfully owed to them.
To prove unjust enrichment, you must prove:
1. One person received an enrichment (benefit).
2. You suffered a loss or spent money on the property.
3. There is no legal reason for the enrichment (for example, it wasn’t a gift).
