This directory can help you find mediators and arbitrators who can help you resolve disputes without going to court.

Alberta Family Mediation Society

This directory can help you find family mediators and parenting coordinators who can help you resolve disputes without going to court.

Alberta Law Libraries

Law libraries at courthouses across Alberta can help you find resources and information to help you with your legal issue. Some services are also available online.

Alberta Legal Coaches & Limited Services

This directory can help you find lawyers who provide coaching and limited services.

Ask-a-Lawyer (Central Alberta Community Legal Clinic)

Volunteer lawyers can give you 20 minutes of free legal support about many family law issues. These events are usually at public libraries and are first-come, first-served. Due to the large number of people, the clinic can’t guarantee an appointment.

Calgary Legal Guidance (CLG)

Volunteer lawyers can give you 30 to 45 minutes of free legal support about many family law issues. CLG also hosts Do-Your-Own Divorce Clinics.

CLG can’t help if you qualify for Legal Aid or Student Legal Assistance, unless you have an issue those agencies can’t help with. Whether you are eligible for services also depends on your income.

Central Alberta Community Legal Clinic

Volunteer lawyers can give you 30 minutes of free legal support about many family law issues.

Centre Albertain d’Information Juridique (Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Alberta)

The Centre provides legal information to help you understand your rights and the justice system in Alberta. The Centre cannot provide legal advice. This service is for Francophone Albertans.

Child Support Recalculation Program (Government of Alberta)

This free government program can update the amount of child support a parent must pay based on their income. To access services, you must have an order or agreement about child support.

Child Support Resolution Program (Government of Alberta)

This free government program helps parents reach an agreement about financial support for their children and get a court order for support. This service is only available in Edmonton and Calgary.

Children’s Services Mediation Program (Government of Alberta)

This free government program provides mediation services to families who are already involved with Children’s Services. If you already have a caseworker, reach out to them if you are interested in this program.

Collaborative Divorce Alberta Association

This directory can help you find collaborative family professionals who can help you resolve disputes without going to court.
